Pappasitos

Overview:

Pappasitos has built a reputation for its fresh cuisine, vibrant ambiance, and a staff as loyal as it is warm. The scratch Tex-Mex kitchen is the second largest concept within the Pappas family of restaurants, with locations across Texas and the southeast. To refresh the brand, we dug into the Pappasitos DNA: its guiding values, its operational excellence, its approach to serving top-notch Tex-Mex—and margaritas that slap.

Our goal was evolution, not reinvention, and the result was a system of elements that pays homage to the Pappasitos legacy, celebrates Tex-Mex and Mexican traditions, and anticipates the concept’s bright future.

This custom iteration of the typeface Stash serves as the spiritual successor to the original “Cantina” script. It offers a fresh reinterpretation of the iconic Coca-Cola-inspired “C” along with modern, balanced letterforms. Stash also features hundreds of alternative character glyphs to accommodate any design need.

A collection of typefaces support the evolved wordmark. Each typeface is imperfect, designed to feel crafted by hand. When layered, the type system offers texture and rhythm—and nearly unlimited combinations that can flex across print, web, signage, and merch.
